At CNIC News, Johnathan Days focuses on U.S. politics, government accountability, foreign policy, national security, and public policy, with an emphasis on separating established facts from analysis, identifying uncertainty, evaluating competing explanations, and explaining why events matter.

Days served in the U.S. Army as a Military Intelligence NCO and trained as an intelligence analyst through the U.S. Army Intelligence Center. He completed three deployments to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. After leaving the Army, he relocated to El Paso, Texas, where he continued his intelligence career as an analyst supporting Department of Defense missions and later as a senior analyst supporting Department of Homeland Security missions involving counterterrorism, transnational threats, and border security.

He founded CNIC News to adapt analytical methods used in professional intelligence environments for a public audience: identify the essential information, provide relevant context, evaluate competing explanations, distinguish fact from assessment, and communicate conclusions clearly.
